Cellulose boards with polymer coating ( GC2 + PE)
Primary wood fiber carton boards (GC2) are made of layers of mechanical and chemically bleached pulp. The printing side is a double blade coated with kaolin which allows for extremely high, trouble-free printing quality.
This grade of carton board is suitable for packaging where there is direct contact with food.
INTER PAPIR manufactures primary wood fiber carton boards, hard sized , with polymer ( Polyethylene coated paper) coating , widely used in the packaging of frozen food ( fruits and vegetables, fish , pastries ….) .This grade of material protects both frozen food from external environment and the packaging itself from moisture or grease from the packaged product.
This material is used in the production of paper cups . PE barrier board coating prevents liquid from escaping the cup and also provides the ability to be heat sealed.
The growing market of packaging materials for food is becoming more demanding. New requirements for protecting the environment and reduction in the amount of packaging used are being introduced. Barrier board packaging is the answer to these demands. Superior results in printing quality, possibility for recycling, also protection of the wood fiber from external influence along with protection of the packaging from moisture or grease from food, make this grade of material a perfect solution for packaging in the food industry.
Recycled carton boards with polymer coating ( GD2+PE)
Recycled carton boards are made of waste paper. This grade of material is not suitable for contact with food, since dangerous materials that waste paper can contain are easily transferable to food
This problem was initially solved buy laminating PE film on recycled carton board with glue. This method resulted in one more chemical substance (adhesive) being added in final packaging for food.
This caused the EU to make a recommendation, which was accepted by many countries. The EU recommends that all packaging intended for contact with food, be produced only from material made of primary wood fiber or polymer coated by method of extrusion. Extrusion coating, is a process in which polymer is melted at high temperatures and directly bonded with web material (carton boards, paper, aluminum foil, etc.) without the use of additional adhesives. These materials are generally referred to as poly coated papers.
INTER PAPIR offers the customer recycled carton board with polymer (PE), in grammages from 230 up to 450 gr. This barrier of polymer protects packaged food form external influences, it also protects the packaging itself from food influences (grease, moisture ...). An additional advantage of this grade of cardboard for packaging is the possibility of heat sealing.
Kraft paper with polymer coating
Kraft paper is one of the leading materials in modern packaging. It is made of primary wood fibers and chemically treated to give excellent tensile strength.
Kraft paper with polymer coating is widely used as wrapping paper to provide a barrier which protects from external influences, especially moisture ( packaging material for technochemical ). It is also commonly used in the production of paper bags for fast food.
